Marco Asensio, Paris Saint-Germain’s 29-year-old midfielder/attacker under contract until 2026, has been struggling of late and has been rather sidelined by coach Luis Enrique. So the idea of a mercato departure has taken hold, and he is now rumoured to be close to a loan move to Aston Villa. Diaro AS claims that the English club will begin negotiations to secure the player’s services beyond the loan period.
“Aston Villa will soon begin negotiations with PSG regarding Marco Asensio, in order to secure the player’s continuity beyond this season!

Good news for PSG, an unwanted player who can leave is always good news. It brings money into the coffers and, inevitably, PSG will have more latitude to improve their squad with the players they want.
Asensio is a good player, but something just didn’t feel right with Luis Enrique and his style. Perhaps not malleable enough, the Spaniard has what it takes to seduce clubs of lesser standing to seek a fine end to his career. We’ll be keeping a close eye on the matter.
