Nordi Mukiele, the 27-year-old central defender/lateral midfielder, arrived at Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2022, but hasn’t made a name for himself. Hampered by injuries, especially in 2023, and little used by coach Luis Enrique, he has been loaned out to Bayer Leverkusen without an option to buy, although his contract runs out in June 2027. Bild reports that a transfer is possible, while the player has been asked to comment on this possibility.
“Mukiele opens the door to a transfer to Leverkusen!
“We’ll see what happens, but I’m very grateful for everything they’ve given me here. I hope it continues like this. To be honest, I’m not thinking about it and I haven’t had any discussions yet.”…
According to the German newspaper, a permanent transfer for around €15 million is possible this summer. This is entirely conceivable, but also far from certain. Mukiele avoids getting too far ahead of himself, without closing the door.
We’ll just have to wait and see. The defender may have other options to evaluate, and there’s nothing to say that an agreement between the two clubs would be straightforward. Even so, a definitive move to Leverkusen would come as no surprise. In any case, a return to the PSG squad does not seem possible. Let’s wait and see.
