Xavi Simons, the 21-year-old striker/midfielder under contract at Paris Saint-Germain until 2027, has been loaned back to RB Leipzig for the 2024-2025 season after a long wait. With no option to buy, the future remained wide open. This Thursday, there is finally talk of a sale to the German club (which would also allow Milan Skriniar to be loaned out to Fenerbahçe, thus getting out of the limelight). Journalist Fabrizio Romano assures us that the matter has been settled, and gives some details.
Xavi Simons has just signed the contract as new RB Leipzig player on a permanent deal from Paris St Germain.
€81m package deal add-ons included plus sell-on clause.
Contract valid until June 2027, definitely one to watch again in the summer. pic.twitter.com/qJLgTEuzcp

Romano is generally reliable, and wouldn’t advance such details without having had indications from well-placed people. We can therefore place a certain amount of trust in him, even if we remain cautious until it’s official. PSG should succeed in making an important sale, all the more so when we remember that Simons arrived free from FC Barcelona.
The capital gain is significant. It’s enough to make us forget the disappointment of not having seen the Dutchman make a full attempt to establish himself in Paris after his loan spell at PSV Eindhoven.
