Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, SSC Napoli’s 23-year-old striker under contract until 2027, was the target of a concrete offer from Paris Saint-Germain during the 2024 summer mercato, but his club didn’t open the door despite pressure from his entourage. Several journalists claim this Thursday that the Georgian has again turned down the Italian club’s offer of an extension, and that PSG are ready and waiting. Il Roma even claims that the door may be open.
Napoli’s renewal proposal for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has been on the table for some time but there is NOT yet a yes from the boy.
In the background is Paris Saint-Germain monitoring the situation.
“Khvicha Kvaratskhelia could sign for PSG THIS WINTER!
Antonio Conte has given the green light for a move and no longer considers the Georgian to be indispensable.
A fee of €90m plus bonuses could be enough (Il Roma).”
Let’s be careful, this is not an official announcement. But the first two journalists are relatively reliable and rarely agree at random. Above all, there is still no sign of an extension, which suggests that progress is difficult at best.
PSG made an offer last summer, so it would make sense that he’s still interested. Perhaps another attempt will be made this winter, but that’s not certain. It’s even less certain that it will succeed, even if it’s possible. Especially if coach Antonio Conte does indeed remove his veto. Mind you, it’s not a foregone conclusion. Let’s wait and see what the answers are to this latest episode.
