Mohamed Salah, the 32-year-old Egyptian striker whose contract with Liverpool expires next June, has been rumoured to be in the sights of Paris Saint-Germain. At the beginning of the week, there was even talk of discussions taking place, before denials were issued. The rumour mill has been in full swing for several days now, and according to L’Equipe, PSG intend to fight back. And they’re aiming for one more striker: Jhon Duran, a 21-year-old player from Aston Villa and Colombia who has also been mentioned recently.
“The two attacking targets for next summer are : John Duran and Salah!
PSG WILL DO ANYTHING to recruit Salah!
Watch out, Liverpool are negotiating an extension for the winger!
Loïc Tanzi via Tik Tok de L’Equipe.”
We remain cautious, as these are always just rumours, and often those that last this long without official confirmation don’t lead to much of interest. However, it would make sense for PSG to take a chance on Salah, an extraordinary striker with an interesting contractual situation. But we don’t know how far he can or will progress.
As for Duran, he’s a striker in the process of establishing himself at the top level, and Paris can be attentive. But there are many other possible outcomes than a transfer to the capital. So let’s wait and see.
