Mohamed Salah, the 32-year-old Egyptian striker whose contract with Liverpool expires next June, has been rumoured to be in the sights of Paris Saint-Germain. At the beginning of the week, there was even talk of discussions taking place, before denials were issued. This PSG rumour was dispelled on Monday by Le Parisien.
“Salah doesn’t fit the profile Luis Enrique and Campos are looking for!
Saudi Arabia’s offer has the Egyptian thinking hard! A golden bridge of 75 million euros over two years.
So he’s a long way from a move to PSG!
Laurent Perrin – Le Parisien.”
We remain cautious, as this is still only a rumour and therefore nothing certain. However, we can agree with the French newspaper that Salah doesn’t really seem to fit in with today’s project. It’s all about building a great team with young talents who have everything to gain. The Egyptian is a long way from that.
But he’s still a great player who’s at the end of his contract, which could at least give us food for thought and a chance to get some information. We’ll have to wait and see. Especially as we’re more focused on the Champions League, with tomorrow’s second leg of the Round of 16 against Liverpool, than on the mercato.
