Renato Marin, the 18-year-old goalkeeper who has reached the end of his contract at AS Roma, has been rumoured to be close to signing for Paris Saint-Germain, with a view to joining the Parisian squad this summer. Il Tempo confirmed on Wednesday that he will be arriving in Paris this summer.
“Il Tempo: Roma’s young goalkeeper Renato Marin is to sign with #PSG, who are offering him a 5-year contract and a salary of 600,000 euros. Ghisolfi tried a final relaunch, but to no avail. Negotiations for his extension started too late.”
This is further confirmation of PSG’s surprise recruitment. Possibly a very good move, there seems to be at least one real disappointment on the Italian side. It remains to be seen how Marin will fit into the Parisian project.
Will he go out on loan to secure a place in the capital? Could he already occupy a role? We’ll have to wait and see, as there are already 3 goalkeepers in the squad (Gianluigi Donnarumma, Matvey Safonov and Arnau Tenas). In any case, let’s hope that the future will confirm that the Parisian club has pulled off a very good deal.
