The 2025 summer mercato isn’t open yet, of course, but it’s already underway, so rumors about Paris Saint-Germain still arrive from time to time. This time, ESPN Brazil reports that PSG are interested in Ryan Francisco, the 18-year-old striker from Sao Paulo who has a contract until 2028 with a €60 million release clause.
“Representatives from three French teams (PSG, Olympique de Marseille and Montpellier) are in a dressing room here at MorumBis with Ryan Francisco’s staff. We expect to see the striker in action during the second half of the match against Cruzeiro.”
PSG among the clubs following a great new talent, that’s quite credible. However, we’re still a long way from a transfer. There are other interested parties, including OM. And certainly other clubs. There’s nothing to say that Francisco has a preference for Paris, or even that a concrete offer will be made.
But it is a possibility for the future. The Parisian club could build on an already well-established agreement with São Paulo following the transfers of Lucas Beraldo and Gabriel Moscardo. However, this is not a certainty either.
The wisest thing to do is to remain cautious and see where it might lead. There may not be a concrete follow-up to this rumour.
