Nordi Mukiele, the 27-year-old central defender/lateral midfielder, arrived at Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2022, but hasn’t made a name for himself. Hampered by injuries, especially in 2023, and little used by coach Luis Enrique, he has been loaned out to Bayer Leverkusen without an option to buy, even though his contract runs out in June 2027. Bild confirms the idea of a transfer to the German club this summer put forward by Kicker this morning.
Confirmation: According to Bild, Mukiele has been happy at Leverkusen for some time.
A transfer of around €15 million is now considered feasible.
Mukiele is highly regarded by Xabi Alonso.
We’re cautious, there’s nothing official yet. But it’s interesting to see the media agree in such a short space of time. Especially as Mukiele’s transfer to Bayer Leverkusen makes sense at the moment, as he’s been playing fairly regularly and putting in some fine performances.
A return to PSG seems unthinkable for him, as coach Luis Enrique was clearly not counting on him. However, other clubs could try their luck, and an agreement between PSG and Leverkusen is not certain. Even if the price quoted here is relatively coherent. Let’s wait for the certainties.
