This Wednesday, Paris Saint-Germain faced Brest at the Parc de Princes as part of the Champions League 2024-2025 play-offs. Brest midfielder Mathias Pereira Lage stopped by the mixed zone after the 7-0 Parisian victory (video highlights PSG/Brest,10-0 overall). He spoke of his team’s heavy defeat and PSG’s superiority at every level.
Pereira Lage “It’s a big defeat, we’re not going to hide”.
“How do you analyze this defeat?
It’s a big defeat, we’re not going to hide from it. We had a few situations that didn’t go our way. PSG are in great form at the moment, and we went down. But as our coach said after the game, we have to take the positives out of this campaign. We enjoyed ourselves and the fans.
Pereira Lage “We want to make a good impression, we don’t want to hold up the game”.
Do you regret not scoring that first goal?
If you’re leading 1-0, you can tell yourself that you can believe a little more. After that, when you get that first goal, it’s difficult. We want to make a good impression, we’re not blocking the game, we’re opening up the play, we had a few situations.
Do you think Paris are favourites in the competition now?
If you look at their last four games since City (4-2), they’ve picked themselves up. So yes, you could say they’re one of the favourites”, comments relayed by L’Equipe.
