Franco Mastantuono, a 17-year-old attacking midfielder under contract to River Plate until December 2026, is a new talent in Argentine soccer. He has joined the long list of players rumoured to be in the sights of Paris Saint-Germain. Argentine sports journalist Renzo Pantich reported on Tuesday that Paris is ready to make a move.
“PSG is INTERESTED in FRANCO MASTANTUONO. They are willing to put a value close to the termination clause.”
It is reported that PSG are preparing to offer a sum close to his €45 million release clause this winter, with a probable loan to River Plate until the summer, in order to get ahead of the competition.
It’s a move we’ve seen several times before in recent years, and it’s certainly feasible. Not to mention the idea of Mastantuono simply staying at PSG following the transfer.
However, this is far from a foregone conclusion. The player, River Plate and Paris may have other priorities. But an attempt is very credible for this young talent and it’s not unthinkable that he would be tempted. Let’s wait and see.
