Lucas Hernandez, the 29-year-old Paris Saint-Germain defender, stopped in the mixed zone after the 3-2 victory against Metz this Saturday at the Stade Saint-Symphorien, in the 16th round of the 2025-2026 Ligue 1 season. He had some very harsh words for his team’s win.
Hernandez: “The rest, we can forget.”
“It wasn’t the ideal match; Metz deserved a bit more. But the objective was to win, and tonight, that’s all we can remember. The rest, we can forget. For now, we’re doing the job, even when we tend to struggle a bit,” he said, as reported by L’Equipe.
Hernandez didn’t mince words; he didn’t like PSG’s collective performance. It’s understandable; there was a clear lack of control against the 18th-placed team in the league. Coach Luis Enrique mentioned a problem with “balance.” There were, however, some good spells, during which the Parisians seemed ready to take control.
However, there was no consistency, and Metz never gave up. They even managed to put Paris under pressure thanks to their energy, bold play, and some impressive sequences. Metz may have some regrets after this match. But the points belong to Paris, and that’s not insignificant. They now need to work hard and regain their strength to deliver more complete performances.
