This Wednesday at 9pm (broadcast on beIN SPORTS), Paris Saint-Germain (1st) take on Monaco (3rd) at the Stade Louis II in an advanced match on Matchday 16 of Ligue 1 2024-2025. At a press conference, Monaco coach Adi Hütter spoke about the match and his team’s opponents. In particular, he explained what it will take to win.
Hütter: “They’ve proved they’re virtually untouchable”.
“Of course we want to win this clash against Paris Saint-Germain, but to do that, we need to be on a perfect day! They’re still unbeaten in Ligue 1 at the moment, and since the start of the season they’ve proved that they’re virtually untouchable.
Paris are obviously favourites for this match, although we’re obviously capable of beating them. But to do so, we’ll need a perfect game, both defensively and offensively, and a top performance from my team, I repeat.”
Clearly, Hütter has a great deal of respect for PSG, and he knows that the match will be very complicated. But there’s no question of giving up. But there will be no room for error in this match.
No doubt his game plan will be more precise with his players. But the idea is clear: we’ll have to give it our all if we hope to pick up any points. It’s better to accept that it’s going to be very difficult and deal with it. After that, you never know. There are extraordinary evenings and an opponent who may be a little less good.
As the coach says, his team can win. His words also take some of the pressure off his players, who occupy 3rd place with a fine squad. There are also some fine qualities, and the Parisians shouldn’t come here thinking they’ve already won.
