Hugo Ekitike, a 23-year-old striker for the French U21 team, has officially left Eintracht Frankfurt to sign with Liverpool. This is great news for Paris Saint-Germain, which had included a clause to receive 20% of the profit on a resale after his €16.5 million transfer to the German club.
With this transfer to Liverpool announced in the press at around €90 million, PSG should receive a fairly attractive sum of around €15 million, or even a little more depending on the source (€20 million in total, including bonuses). This does not shake up the transfer market, but it is a nice bonus. It makes up for the club’s “failure” in this transfer.
Ekitike has great qualities, but he wasn’t given the best conditions to succeed. Perhaps he needed to grow up a little more. In any case, we wish him every success at Liverpool.
