Rodrygo, a 24-year-old striker for Real Madrid (under contract until 2028) and Brazil, has been the subject of rumors of interest from several major clubs during this transfer window, as doubts remain about his future while he remains “stuck” in a backup role. Paris Saint-Germain has been linked with him, and rumors are swirling this Wednesday. PSG Inside Actus has given a clear answer regarding the Brazilian, whose transfer is expected to be worth around €90 million according to several media outlets.
“For the moment, Paris Saint-Germain is not interested in the player and has not made an offer. Even if Paris is keeping an eye on the situation, I have already explained the constraints of recruiting the player. Luis Enrique would not be in favor of it anyway.”
The situation is quite simple. Some foreign media outlets have mentioned PSG’s interest, while French media outlets emphasize that there is nothing to it. We’re not saying that the latter are always right, but they seem to be much more realistic here.
PSG carries a lot of weight in the media, and some want to take advantage of that. This is particularly true abroad, where linking the Parisian club to a “hot” story is a classic move. However, signing Rodrygo, who plays on the left (like Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Désiré Doué, and Bradley Barcola) and is looking for a starting spot, wouldn’t really make sense.
Let’s wait and see, though, as a surprise is always possible. But the Rodrygo deal is likely to go ahead without PSG, which seems to have other priorities.
