Rodrygo, a 24-year-old striker for Real Madrid (under contract until 2028) and Brazil, has been the subject of rumors of interest from several major clubs during this transfer window, as doubts remain about his future while he remains “stuck” in a backup role. Paris Saint-Germain has been mentioned in connection with him. According to The Athletic, which focused mainly on Alexander Isak (a 25-year-old striker for Newcastle and Sweden), the situation is clear for PSG.
“Rodrygo, the Real Madrid striker, has been linked with PSG but is not part of their plans for the transfer window.”
It’s brief, but particularly clear. And quite logical. The transfer window can always surprise us, of course. But a transfer of Rodrygo to PSG is still difficult to imagine. There have been a few rumors to that effect, but this statement is more credible.
As has been pointed out several times, the Brazilian prefers to play on the left wing, whereas PSG already has a strong presence on that side. What they really need is a player who is more comfortable on the right. Rodrygo would be more likely to leave Real Madrid in order to play a more important role, something that would be difficult to achieve in the Parisian team.
