Vitinha, Paris Saint-Germain’s 25-year-old midfielder, spoke to Ligue1+ after the 1–0 defeat to Olympique de Marseille on Monday at the Stade Vélodrome in Matchday 5 of the 2025–2026 Ligue 1 season. He did not hide his disappointment.
Vitinha: “We weren’t like we usually are.”
Did emotions take over from the football?
“Honestly, I don’t have much to say. We’re disappointed because we came here to win. They scored very early and that’s important for them. It’s good to score early with that kind of atmosphere. It made the game harder for us and today we couldn’t find our rhythm.
I think we weren’t like we usually are, in terms of our play and our desire. We didn’t look like we really wanted to win or succeed. We gave everything, but in terms of football a lot was missing. We tried to make it happen but it just didn’t come today.”
Were you missing players?
“We had a lot of players in the last match who weren’t here today. I’m not focusing on that. The truth is we’re more than capable of doing well with the players we had on the pitch today.”
