On Sunday at the Stade Vélodrome, Paris Saint-Germain secured a 2–1 victory over Olympique de Marseille in Matchday 5 of the 2026–2027 Ligue 1 season. As we now do after every match, we asked our readers to vote for the best PSG player of the game. Nuno Mendes (the 24-year-old left-back) came out on top.
It was a fine victory for the Portuguese player—and an unsurprising one, given how impressive he was throughout the match. He notably made surging runs that caused real trouble for OM, drew two yellow cards from Timothy Weah, and executed some excellent defensive recoveries.
There was stiff competition, however, notably from forward Ferran Torres (26), who made a significant impact after coming off the bench by scoring another goal. Marquinhos (the 32-year-old center-back and captain) also found the net and delivered a solid defensive performance. The top three seems logical, even though Désiré Doué (the 21-year-old midfielder/forward) also made a strong case for himself, notably providing an assist (for Torres).
