On Wednesday at the Parc des Princes, Paris Saint-Germain beat Arsenal 2-1 in the second leg of the Champions League 2024-2025 semi-final, 3-1 on aggregate (PSG/Arsenal video highlights). We then asked our readers, as they do after every match from now on, to vote for the best Parisian of the match. Gianluigi Donnarumma (26-year-old goalkeeper) came out on top.
It was a far from surprising victory, as Donnarumma put in a great performance with some fine saves to help PSG to victory.
Of course, Achraf Hakimi (26-year-old right-back) and Fabian Ruiz (29-year-old midfielder) could also have won, but they were the rare Parisians to provide the response expected throughout the match. And each scored a fine, decisive goal. We might even have thought that the result would be closer.
We would like to thank you for your votes, which will henceforth be organized after each official match. We would also like to point out that the podiums from the player of the match elections will be used to elect the player of the month.
