This Wednesday evening, Paris Saint-Germain hosted Aston Villa at the Parc des Princes in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final (return on April 15). Following the Parisians’ 3-1 victory (video highlights PSG/Aston Villa), UEFA unveiled the player of the match.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (24-year-old striker) is a fine winner, with impressive energy defensively and offensively, chances created and a fine goal.
There were, of course, other serious candidates in such a strong team, including Désiré Doué (19-year-old midfielder/attacker) and Nuno Mendes (22-year-old left-back), who made up for his error in conceding the goal with an assist and a goal. But that’s not the point: this is a great team that allows its players to express themselves to the full.
