On Friday at the Rose Bowl Stadium, Paris Saint-Germain lost to Botafogo 0-1 on Matchday 2 of the 2025 Club World Cup group stage (video highlights PSG – Botafogo). We then asked our readers, as they do after every match from now on, to vote for the best Parisian of the match. Vitinha (25-year-old midfielder), came out on top.
It’s hard to pick a winner in a match that was disappointing overall, without being a total washout. There were some interesting things, however, including Vitinha, who again dominated in midfield even if he lacked the solutions to create chances.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (24-year old striker) and Achraf Hakimi (26-year old right-back) were the most lively, even if it wasn’t enough, due to a lack of effective alternatives. PSG missed out a little, and they’ll have to react against Seattle Sounders on Monday.
We would like to thank you for your votes, which will now be organized after each official match. We would also like to point out that the podiums from the player of the match elections will be used to elect the player of the month.
