Paris Saint-Germain clinched their first European title with a 5-0 victory over Inter Milan in the Champions League. And at the end of this historic final, legendary even for its scoreline, what better ambassador than Javier Pastore to comment on the victory. El Flaco said to Canal+ is delighted with this long-awaited title, and honoured to have been able to take part in such a celebration.
Javier Pastore: “It was wonderful to see PSG win from the first minute to the last”.
How did you feel about the evening?
First of all, I’m honored to have taken part in such a special evening. For the club and for France too. Honestly, it was wonderful to see this match and for PSG to win from the first minute to the last. It was fantastic. We’ve been through some really bad times with this Champions League, and now to bring it back to all those people who’ve been working since day one, it’s great.
If someone had told you that you’d have to wait 14 years to win it, what would you have said?
When I signed my contract, the first thing Nasser told me was that I wanted to win the Champions League. He wanted to take Paris Saint-Germain to the top in France and Europe. That’s why I mention it, because I knew it was going to happen. We weren’t so lucky before, but it happened today, and now the club has all the structure, the players, to continue making history.
