This Sunday evening, Paris Saint-Germain won 3-1 against Olympique Lyonnais on Matchday 15 of Ligue 1 2024-2025 at the Parc des Princes. Here we present you with some of the highlights and lowlights of the victory.
Tops –
Unbeaten
We don’t say it enough, but this team is serious and dominates 95% of its matches, even in the LDC. In France, PSG is impregnable and has demonstrated this once again. Despite turnover, this squad doesn’t “suck” all that much and shows it every weekend. With a clear lead in all rankings, PSG has made a perfect start to the Ligue 1 season.
Doué: at last!
We’ve been waiting to see him reach the level promised by his fine season at Rennes. And he has. He really hurt Lyon, and could even have scored a high-quality goal had it not been for Hakimi’s offside trap. His performance was more than convincing, he played with his opponents and is becoming a credible alternative for a place in the 11 in certain matches.
Paris: the momentum extinguisher
Everyone expected to see a Lyon side capable of holding their own against PSG. But everyone forgets that PSG, though ineffective at times, remain a team that outrageously dominates its matches. Lyon were no exception to the rule. Luis Enrique had something to do with it. Fewer chances conceded, a team that plays, scores and extinguishes its opponents. Lyon didn’t exist, like OM before them. Let’s give the Parisians credit.
Flops –
Beraldo
Still too light to play in this team, we saw that the arrival of Marquinhos changed the game, taking the wind out of Lyon’s sails. Beraldo must improve if he is to have a future in Paris. His restarts were disappointing, but that’s where he could have made a difference.
Lee – Light as a feather
His desire is not in question, but his game is so stereotyped that it’s easy to read. Yet you can tell he’s got the ball, ideas and even a nose for goal. But when he starts out on his flank, you can predict 100% what he’s going to do. If you see him as an observer, opponents know even better. Disappointing.
