Paris Saint-Germain thrashed Olympique Lyonnais on Sunday evening at the Parc des Princes on Matchday 15 of Ligue1 (see PSG/OL video summary). While OL were on a winning streak and full of good intentions, they came up against a PSG side that was regaining its confidence and finding the back of the net. The Parisian fans were never in awe of them this evening. Vitinha, the capital club’s midfielder who scored tonight, answered DAZN journalists’ post-match questions to give us his reaction to this fine victory:
Vitinha: “We expected a tough match, but we did everything we could to make it easy”.
Contract fulfilled just before the holidays?
Yes, it feels good. We’re happy with the wins against Salzburg and tonight. In front of our fans it feels good, it’s a pleasure, we’ve got to keep it going.
Why have you been so far superior?
I think that in all the last few games, against Lyon we’ve been the superior team. We’ve been waiting for this match too. Lyon have a great team too, so we were expecting a tough match, but we did everything we could to make it easy. The key was after half-time, because we didn’t finish the first half very well after Lyon’s goal. The key was to get back into the second half and score. We’ve won, which feels good, and now we’ve got to get on with it.
“It’s a good win against a good team”.
Were the coach’s plans respected?
Yes, it’s the same as always, he says it every game, the details you have to do differently. It depends on the team we’re up against. We stuck to the plan, played well and scored. We defended well and it was a good win against a good team. We’ll carry on.
Man of the match Doué?
Yes, I’m very happy for him, in Salzburg for the entrance he made, and today for the performance. These are players who don’t get as many minutes, and when they get on the pitch and play games like that, it makes the team bigger. It’s going to take us a long way.
