This Sunday, as part of the Champions Trophy 2024, Paris Saint-Germain faced Monaco at Stadium 974. After a match in which the Rouge et Bleu dominated, conceding a few chances and, above all, lacking efficiency (against an in-form goalkeeper), they won 1-0. Here are our notes on the Parisians.

Contents
Goalkeeper –Defender – Midfielder – Forwards–Entraîneur –

Goalkeeper –

Gianluigi Donnarumma (7) – Good saves on shots on target and interesting footwork in both short and long throw.

Defender –

Achraf Hakimi (7.5) – Another impressive game from the player who helped PSG create numerous chances, without forgetting to defend well. He just lacked a touch of success to score.

Marquinhos (6) – Pretty good, without being totally imperious either. His recovery was always clean.

Willian Pacho (5.5) – Alternated between very good interventions and a few difficult moments, notably against Embolo in the second half.

Nuno Mendes (7.5) – Some inaccuracies, he can improve his attacking passing, but his volume of play is extraordinary. He helped PSG create chances and made some important defensive returns.

Midfielder –

João Neves (6) – Very active, always as combative in every duel, perhaps a little less “magical” than on other occasions. Replaced in the 66th minute by Fabian Ruiz.

Vitinha (7) – Impressive on some passes, even if his team-mates failed to turn them into goals. He was the boss in midfield, and was also very present defensively.

Warren Zaïre-Emery (6) – Huge effort, some good breakthroughs, we’d still like to see him a little more incisive with the ball. He’d almost have to be a little less wise at times. Replaced in the 87th minute by Senny Mayulu.

Forwards–

Ousmane Dembélé (6) – Once again, it’s hard to judge Dembélé. He created chances, but also missed a lot. In the end, he scored the winning goal from a Fabian Ruiz pass.

Lee Kang-In (6) – He created a lot of danger with his passes and strikes, with a few good dribbles. Even if we’d like to see him try a little harder at times, when he’s opting for caution. He doesn’t count his defensive efforts. Replaced in the 66th minute by Bradley Barcola.

Désiré Doué (6.5) – Some very fine moments, with a creativity that did us good. Some very interesting shots, but they just didn’t go in (also due to an in-form goalkeeper). He has clearly gained confidence and made his mark in the team. Replaced in the 71st minute by Gonçalo Ramos.

Entraîneur –

Luis Enrique (8) – His team largely dominated, and he could do nothing about the opposition’s great game. We may be surprised by some of his choices (Ramos playing little or others), but he knows his squad and won the title.
