Grace Geyoro, the 28-year-old midfielder from Paris Saint-Germain, whose contract runs until 2028, is once again the subject of transfer rumors this summer, after several years of speculation. This time, it seems to be a done deal: the French international is leaving PSG for London City Lionesses. Journalist Bruno Salomon has provided further confirmation.
“Confirmation that after 13 years at PSG, Grace Geyoro has indeed signed (as reported by lequipe) with London City Lionesses, owned by OL’s president, Michelle Kang. This is the biggest transfer in the history of French women’s football (top 3 in the world): 1.4 million euros, according to our sources at iciparisidf.”
Geyoro, who joined PSG in 2012 to complete her youth academy training, has only ever played for the Parisian club at a professional level. This is therefore a major moment for her and for the Parisian club, marking a sad farewell. Especially since it ends on somewhat sour terms, with the player reportedly disappointed with the club’s direction recently, and the loss of the captain’s armband last season by Olivier Echouafni without a clear explanation.
Paris will need to find solid solutions after the departure of such a key player. The restructuring continues, and it will be time to add some stability to move forward.
