Manuel Neuer, the 40-year-old Bayern Munich goalkeeper, spoke to the media after Wednesday’s Champions League quarter-final victory against Real Madrid (4-3, 6-4 on aggregate). He also took the opportunity to discuss the upcoming semi-final against Paris Saint-Germain (April 28 and May 6).
“Our matches in recent years have always been close, in both the Champions League and the Club World Cup. These two matches will be no different. I’m really looking forward to the match in Paris, and then in Munich with the support of our fans. They were incredible tonight, and I hope they’ll do it again against Paris.”
Indeed, matches between PSG and Bayern have been very competitive in recent years. Another high-level clash is expected, with great intensity and excitement. Everyone is eager, including Neuer. Of course, the domestic matches shouldn’t be neglected in the meantime. But it’s clear that it will be a big clash for a place in the final.
