On Wednesday, in the 2025 Intercontinental Cup final, Paris Saint-Germain faced Flamengo at the Ahmad-ben-Ali Al Rayyan Stadium in Doha, Qatar. After a sluggish performance, the Parisians prevailed 2-1 on penalties (1-1 after regulation time). Here are our player ratings for PSG.

Contents
Goalkeeper –Defenders –Midfielders –Forwards –Coach –

Goalkeeper –

Matvey Safonov (8) – Little to do in the first half. He conceded a penalty against one of the best penalty takers. An epic penalty shootout.

Defenders –

Warren Zaïre-Emery (5.5) – A very timid first half. Better in the second half, he made a superb recovery.

Marquinhos (5) – He was seen rallying his teammates and started the match quite well. His penalty was a real setback for his team.

Willian Pacho (6) – Solid as always. A serious performance.

Nuno Mendes (5) – Quite disappointing in the first half. He lacked precision. He tried to raise his game towards the end, but he didn’t win his duels as usual.

Midfielders –

Joao Neves (6) – Very mobile, he moved around a lot, offered himself up, but received few balls going forward. In midfield, his intelligence is always very useful for building attacks.

Vitinha (5) – A fairly neutral first half for him. He was wasteful. He looked a little better in the second half, but nothing extraordinary.

Fabian Ruiz (5) – His game intelligence often creates good opportunities, but he suffered from a lack of movement. He positioned himself well, but struggled with his pace. He struggled to speed up the game. Substituted by Quentin Ndjantou in the 105th minute.

Forwards –

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (4) – A very average first half, one goal, that sums up what he offered. That said, you can’t deny his energy defensively and in pressing. In the end, he accomplished little. Substituted at the start of extra time by Ibrahim Mbaye.

Lee Kang-in (NO RATING) – Substituted in the 34th minute by Senny Mayulu. (3) – An average appearance off the bench. He often makes small errors that cost the team possession. Substituted by Bradley Barcola in the 65th minute.

Désiré Doué (5) – Some wastefulness in the first half, but some good moments; he did, however, provide the assist for PSG’s goal. He still needs to find his feet and reduce his turnovers. His talent is undeniable, but he lacked rhythm and paid the price for being too individualistic. Substituted by Ousmane Dembélé late in the game.

Coach –

Luis Enrique (5) – The mere fact that the team failed to win in regulation time shows he made a mistake. By trying too hard to score late in the game, he simply created this “savior syndrome,” this feeling of being the one who will score. We didn’t see the team’s collective play, offensively, and this isn’t a new problem. It’s a recurring issue lately.
