Paris Saint-Germain and Lille faced off this Friday at the Parc des Princes in Matchday 18 of the 2025-2026 Ligue 1 season. The match ended in a 3-0 victory for PSG. After the game, Lille coach Bruno Genesio spoke to beIN SPORTS.
Genesio: “Overall, there’s no comparison between the two teams.”
What was said in the locker room?
Sometimes there’s not much to say, it’s better to remain silent. Speaking in the heat of the moment after a match… I think there’s simply a difference in level. Technically, in intensity, so it’s only logical, even if the scoreline is a bit harsh. We perhaps didn’t deserve to lose 3-0, but overall, there’s no comparison between the two teams.
Genesio: “Not European champions for nothing.”
What could have gone better?
It’s true that if we’d opened the scoring early, it could have changed the course of the match. Unfortunately, we didn’t. After that, there were still opportunities to do better in certain situations, particularly with our build-up play; we were too rushed and didn’t play with enough precision.
Once again, there’s not much to say except to acknowledge the superiority of our opponent, who aren’t European champions for nothing and who have a Ballon d’Or winner on their team. At times, that makes all the difference.
