This Saturday, the Paris Saint-Germain and Nantes women’s teams faced each other at the PSG Campus for matchday 2 of the 2025-2026 Arkéma Women’s Division 1 season. After the 5-2 victory, coach Paulo César spoke to PSG TV. This was an opportunity to discuss the win and pay tribute to Jade Le Guilly, the 23-year-old defender who suffered a serious injury.
Paulo César: “We will continue to work to improve our performance in every match.”
What are your thoughts on the victory?
I’m happy with our performance; we managed to be effective today. That’s what we lacked against Lens. So, I’m very happy with today’s performance. We will continue to work to make things even better in the next matches.
I think we created quite a few opportunities, even though I don’t have an exact number (smile). Since we managed to score 5 goals, that’s very positive. Even though we conceded 2 goals due to a lack of concentration. But, that’s part of the game, and we will continue to work to improve this in every match.
Paulo César: “We’re looking forward to having her back at the end of the season.”
Any thoughts on Jade Le Guilly?
This is a small tribute to Jade, who, frankly, had an incredible pre-season. Mentally, she was really top-notch, physically as well. It’s a shame; we’ve suffered a big loss for the season. I wish her all the best, and a speedy recovery. We’re looking forward to having her back at the end of the season; I hope she can have a good rehabilitation and return to 100%.
