Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, the 24-year-old Paris Saint-Germain striker, had to leave the field in the 23rd minute of Wednesday’s Champions League match against Newcastle at the Parc des Princes. He injured his ankle in a challenge with Anthony Elanga and was replaced by Désiré Doué (20).

Unfortunately, we can already fear Kvaratskhelia will be out for several weeks. Just as the injury list was finally clearing, bad luck means we’ll have to wait to hope for a full squad. At least this injury comes at a time when the schedule should be lighter. We’ll have to wait for the results of the tests to know more precisely how long the Georgian player will be out.
