Paris Saint-Germain head coach Luis Enrique held a press conference this Tuesday ahead of the match against Brest at the Parc des Princes tomorrow (kick-off at 9 PM, CET) for Matchday 1 of the 2026–2027 Champions League. Alongside the press conference, the Spaniard also spoke to PSG TV.
Luis Enrique: “We are ready to get off to the best possible start.”
The Champions League is back; can you sense the excitement within the squad?
We are certainly looking forward to the start of the competition. We love it; it’s a competition that holds great memories for us. We need to stay focused. There are no easy matches in Ligue 1, and none in the Champions League either. We have to stay ready.
What kind of match can we expect?
We’ve analyzed the opposition, though it’s hard to know exactly how they’ll play. I know Yaya Touré well; he was a player when I was coaching the B team. He began his career as a head coach in Bratislava. He likes having possession, and they dominate their league just as we do in Ligue 1. But we have to be prepared for tactical changes. It won’t be easy. We are ready to get off to the best possible start.
