This Wednesday at the Parc des Princes, Paris Saint-Germain (5th) faces Tottenham (10th) in Matchday 5 of the 2025-2026 Champions League (kick-off at 9 pm, CET). The Parisian squad was announced this Wednesday morning, with the surprise absence of Renato Marin. The 19-year-old goalkeeper’s absence was explained by journalist Benjamin Quarez (Le Parisien).

“Absent from the squad for tonight, replaced by Martin James, goalkeeper Renato Marin is suffering from a minor injury that should sideline him for a week.”

Nothing serious, then, even if an injury is always a problem. We hope the goalkeeper will return quickly, even if his role as third-choice keeper means that an absence is generally not particularly noticed. But his presence in the group is important and allows him to gain experience for the future. There’s also the day-to-day work. At least he shouldn’t be slowed down for long.
