On Wednesday, Paris Saint-Germain faced Tottenham at the Bluenergy Stadium in Udine in the 2025 European Super Cup. After a match in which Les Rouge et Bleu struggled physically but showed courage to equalize at the end of the game, 2-2, they won 4-3 on penalties. Here are our ratings for the Parisians.
Goalkeeper –
Lucas Chevalier (5) – A first match to warm up. Not confident on one of the goals, he still made some saves, including one in the penalty shootout.
Defenders –
Achraf Hakimi (5) – He struggled with some mistakes in his passing and didn’t look very sharp.
Marquinhos (5.5) – He fought hard but still had some slight difficulties at times.
Willian Pacho (4) – Started well, then physically declined, missing challenges, which is quite rare for him. He lacks pace, like the rest of the team.
Nuno Mendes (5.5) – He did some good things, but lacked support around him.
Midfielders –
Warren Zaïre-Emery (4) – He didn’t contribute much to the team. Still “timid” in his choices, he didn’t shine in his pressing game either. Replaced by Lee Kang-in in the 68th minute.
Vitinha (4) – A far cry from last season’s Vitinha. He also suffered from his teammates’ lack of pace in duels.
Désiré Doué (5) – Always smooth with the ball, he ran well, but clearly lacks stamina. Replaced by Gonçalo Ramos in the 77th minute.
Forwards –
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (3) – Lots of fouls, few duels won, it was an out-of-form Kvara who took to the field. Replaced by Fabian Ruiz in the 60th minute.
Ousmane Dembélé (5) – Pressing and that’s it. He too paid the price for a lack of preparation. He didn’t make an impact. As a decisive passer, he finished the game better.
Bradley Barcola (4) – Good runs in the first half, but few good crosses. He needs to learn to reinvent his game to be less predictable. Replaced by Ibrahim Mbaye in the 67th minute.
Coach –
Luis Enrique (4) – He said it himself, his team only had five days to prepare. That’s no excuse. The changes came quite late, and above all, he should perhaps have asked his players to opt for a more direct style of play.
