Paris Saint-Germain are preparing to turn an important page on their women’s bench following the departure of Fabrice Abriel (44). According to RMC Sport, three coaching profiles are attracting the club’s attention, with Paulo César (46) in pole position, but the unexpected candidacy of Corinne Diacre (50) has enlivened debate. The final decision will rest with President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi.

“The position is attracting some big names, and according to our information, three technical profiles have come to the club’s attention”.

“Following the parting of ways with Fabrice Abriel at the end of last season, Paris Saint-Germain’s sports management have been actively searching for a successor on the bench to launch a new, serene cycle for the women’s team. The position is attracting a number of big names, and according to our information, three technical profiles have caught the club’s attention.

Paulo Cesar, who took over as interim coach at the end of last season, would appear to have a head start, given his knowledge of the club, the discipline and the professional squad, with whom he worked well during his few weeks in charge. Two other profiles are still in the running, including a highly experienced coach specializing in women’s soccer.

A rather unexpected profile has emerged: Corinne Diacre. According to our information, a fourth name has come up a lot in recent weeks: that of Marco Simone, but his inexperience of the discipline does not speak in his favour. The final decision in this matter will rest with President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi.“

The search for a new Paris Saint-Germain women’s coach looks more strategic than ever. After the end of the season was marked by the successful interim appointment of Paulo César (46), the sporting directorate seems to favour continuity and internal knowledge of the club. His temporary stint was praised for his management of the group and his understanding of the specific challenges facing the women’s section, assets which could prove decisive in the face of competition.

However, the management are not ruling out the idea of a bolder move: the candidature of Corinne Diacre (50), former France national team coach, is intriguing due to her experience and poise, although her style has sometimes divided opinion.

A third technician, a recognized specialist in women’s soccer, also remains in the running, while Marco Simone (55), a former PSG striker, seems to suffer from a lack of experience in the discipline. This choice, crucial for the future of the Parisian project, will be decided by Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, who must arbitrate between stability, expertise and audacity to relaunch the ambition of PSG women’s football.
