On Saturday, Paris Saint-Germain travelled to face Stade Rennais in Ligue 1’s 25th matchday (1-4 video highlights Rennes/PSG). After the game, Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique spoke to PSG TV about the result.
Enrique “We need to recover and think about the Liverpool game.”
“It’s an important win after this week’s Champions League match. I think we played a good game against a Rennes team that has a lot of quality. I think we can be happy.
I’m pleased with my team and the way they prepared for the match. All the players, all together, played like a real team. Now we need to recover and think about the Liverpool game.”
An away league match between two Champions League fixtures is never easy to negotiate. Although the match was far from spectacular, the Parisians once again managed to win by a large margin against one of the best opponents in the French league. Given the circumstances of the match, we didn’t expect anything better from this team.
Now, of course, heads turn to the Champions League. PSG travel to Anfield on Tuesday for their most important match of the season. After an outrageous domination that ended in a 0-1 defeat, the Parisians need to turn things around. It won’t be easy, but there’s certainly hope that PSG can make history.
