This Saturday at 7pm (UTC+1) Paris Saint-Germain (1st) take on Saint-Etienne (17th) at the Stade Geoffroy Guichard as part of the 27th day of Ligue 1 2024-2025. The match will be played without Parisian supporters, who have been banned from the stadium by a prefectural decree.
“PSG fans banned from Ligue 1 match against Saint-Étienne on March 29.”
We know that there have been incidents and we understand caution, especially as there is tension on the Saint-Etienne side with a current 17th place out of 18. But the absence of Parisian fans is regrettable, not only because of the atmosphere, but also because PSG could be champions with a win if Olympique de Marseille lose to Reims at 5pm.
It’s sad to contemplate celebrating without the fans, but the choice has been made. We’ll almost be counting on OM to put off the title for a while.
