On Sunday at the Stade de la Meinau, Paris Saint-Germain defeated Strasbourg 2-1 in Matchday 20 of the 2025-2026 Ligue 1 season. Here are the player ratings given by Le Parisien and L’Équipe to the capital club’s players.
Le Parisien:
Barcola (5) – Mayulu (5) – Mbaye (4) / Doué (5.5)
Neves (5) – Vitinha (5) – Zaïre-Emery (6.5)
Nuno Mendes (6.5) – Pacho (5) – Marquinhos (4.5) – Hakimi (3.5)
Safonov (7)
L’Equipe:
Luis Enrique – 6
Barcola (5) – Mayulu (5) – Mbaye (4) / Doué (5)
Neves (4) – Vitinha (4) – Zaïre-Emery (6)
Nuno Mendes (6) – Pacho (4) – Marquinhos (4) – Hakimi (4)
Safonov (7)
It was a laborious first half, requiring flashes of brilliance (like Zaïre-Emery’s attempted cross). (It’s rare) to escape the Strasbourg trap. Paris once again showed its limitations and rallied to save face. The ratings are fair; some players weren’t up to par, as has often been the case this season. Individual quality isn’t consistent, and when everyone isn’t at their peak, the team falters.
This isn’t always a good sign for the future, but Lee Kang-in’s introduction was a positive change, and we can hope that the players will find renewed energy to keep moving forward. It’s been a season of struggle, but in the end, PSG is succeeding thanks to its strength in never giving up. While the ratings are low, we can still give some credit to this unwavering will to avoid defeat.
