Here’s our series. The 5 good reasons to watch a match (with some adaptations sometimes). We’ll revisit the interesting aspects before each match, with a mix of seriousness and humor. Note that this isn’t meant to be an exhaustive overview of the topic. We’re continuing here with Paris Saint-Germain’s (1st) match this Sunday against Lens (5th) at the Parc des Princes, during the 4th matchday of Ligue 1 2025-2026 (kick-off 5:15 PM, PSG/Inter Milan broadcast on beIN SPORTS).
5 – The end of the international break.
The 2026 World Cup qualifying matches are interesting; they’re always better than friendlies or the Nations League. However, they can’t compare to the season itself, which has barely begun. Here we go again, finally, for just 6 matches (4 in Ligue 1 and 2 in the Champions League). We have to enjoy it.
4 – Time for Ibrahim Mbaye…
We’re also happy to see the end of the international break, as it started very poorly with injuries to Fabian Ruiz (apparently minor), Désiré Doué, and Ousmane Dembélé. There haven’t been any other issues since, thankfully. But these absences will already create some opportunities and space for other players. Including the young Ibrahim Mbaye (17-year-old forward). PSG wants to give him playing time, and this will be the perfect opportunity.
3- Warren Zaïre-Emery,
The 19-year-old midfielder should also have an opportunity to show his talent, starting with this match. He wasn’t with the French national team, so he’s had time to prepare. And Lee Kang-In (24) should be playing in a more attacking role in the coming weeks. This is the perfect time for this academy graduate to string together some good performances and regain his confidence and peak form. It should start this Sunday against a good opponent.
2. Senny Mayulu
He’s the young talent who really stood out during the latter part of the 2024-2025 season, and we hope to see this 19-year-old attacking midfielder confirm his potential this season. We expect him to continue to develop. He should also get more playing time in the coming weeks, and we anticipate seeing him in action this Sunday. We’re curious to see how far he can go, and he will be one player to watch closely.
1 – and Gonçalo Ramos
The 24-year-old striker isn’t universally loved by PSG fans, but he is a high-level goalscorer who plays regularly for a Portuguese national team that has plenty of competition for places. In his defense, it’s often argued that he lacks playing time and confidence. Now, he has an opportunity to prove himself.
Ideally, he would start with a strong performance today. Of course, his overall performance will need to be assessed over the coming weeks. But it’s clear that PSG’s victories in upcoming major matches, particularly in the Champions League, will depend in part on Ramos being at his best.
