Gianluigi Donnarumma, the 26-year-old goalkeeper who joined Paris Saint-Germain in 2021 on a contract running until 2026 (following the end of his tenure at AC Milan), has been at the heart of rumours in recent weeks. There are doubts about an extension, despite the desire expressed by the Italian and his agent Enzo Raiola. The latter was asked by the Italian press to comment on rumours of an interest from Inter Milan.
“Donnarumma: ”It’s not a subject today.”
“Donnarumma to Inter?
Inter already have a goalkeeper, so for the moment everything’s quiet. But we haven’t talked about Gigio at all, it’s not a topic today. There has never been any discussion with Inter, as I’ve already said several times.
At the moment, we’re looking at other things concerning the youngsters, we’re talking about how to organize the U23s and certain players in the youth teams.
Could Sommer’s departure change things?
Ah, well, if they sell him, that’s another story.”
Once again, the answer is clear. The media have been full of rumours, but nothing concrete. For the time being, Donnarumma and his agent have merely reiterated their desire to extend his contract with PSG. This doesn’t prevent a possible stalemate, except that now is the time for optimism.
So a transfer to Inter Milan is even further away, even if things could change during the mercato. The agent isn’t even taking advantage of the opportunity for a possible pressure tactic, so let’s remain calm. We’ll have to wait and see, as the season is (finally) over.
