Ilya Zabarnyi, the 22-year-old central defender from Bournemouth (contract until 2028) and Ukraine, has been rumored to be on the verge of signing for Paris Saint-Germain in a €66 million deal including bonuses. Le Parisien and journalist Romain Collet Gaudin announced this Monday that the medical has been passed and that PSG is preparing to make the official announcement.
Le Parisien :
“Ilya Zabarnyi successfully passed his medical last night. Details still need to be finalized before his arrival is officially confirmed by PSG.”
Romain Collet Gaudin :
“PSG prepares communication for the transfer of Illya Zabarnyi.”
Everything is going in the right direction; Zabarnyi seems to be practically a PSG player. We expect a statement soon and that he will participate in today’s training session. This will kick-start his adaptation and perhaps allow him to participate in the European Super Cup this Wednesday against Tottenham. Although there will be no rush, he was able to complete a full preseason with Bournemouth.
