The Bradley Barcola saga could soon reach a conclusion. According to RMC Sport, Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool are discussing a transfer for the 23-year-old French forward, with the deal valued at between €140 million and €150 million, including bonuses. This massive transfer would also benefit Olympique Lyonnais.

In a €140 million deal, Les Gones would receive at least €4.9 million, having hosted Barcola in their youth and professional squads from 2010 to 2023. One slight regret for the Rhône-based club is the absence of a sell-on clause when Barcola was sold to PSG in 2023.”
While no agreement had been finalized by mid-morning on Thursday, the figures being discussed highlight the significance of the matter. PSG could secure a massive return on a player signed from Lyon in 2023, while Liverpool would have to make a substantial investment to convince the Parisian club.
OL will also be closely monitoring the outcome of the negotiations. Under FIFA’s solidarity mechanism, Barcola’s formative club is entitled to 3.5% of the final transfer fee. On a €140 million deal, Lyon would thus receive at least €4.9 million.
This is a significant sum for OL, which had Barcola in its youth ranks before his transition to the professional level. The Rhône-based club, however, does not hold a sell-on clause negotiated at the time of the forward’s transfer to Paris Saint-Germain in 2023. For both PSG and OL, this deal—the most expensive transfer of a player from a French club to a foreign one—will represent a massive financial windfall.
