Alexei Batrakov, the 20-year-old Russian attacking midfielder for Lokomotiv Moscow (under contract until 2029), is one of Paris Saint-Germain’s transfer targets (his agent has confirmed this). It remains to be seen where the various discussions will lead. Sport Express is now reporting the agent’s comments regarding the presence of PSG representatives at the Lokomotiv Moscow/Zenit Saint Petersburg match this Wednesday.
“PSG scouts were present at Lokomotiv’s matches. They were at the match today.”
Of course, it’s part of an agent’s job to promote their player, and highlighting PSG’s interest is significant. We suspect there’s some truth to it; otherwise, he would be taking a big risk of losing credibility. However, there’s no concrete offer yet. A transfer is therefore still a long way off.
While it’s possible, given that Paris is monitoring the player and one might think he could be tempted by such a move, especially with Russian clubs excluded from European competitions, let’s wait and see if PSG makes a move. Other options may exist.
