Ibrahim Mbaye, an 18-year-old forward developed at Paris Saint-Germain and under professional contract until 2028, has carved out a small role in the first-team squad but has not yet secured regular playing time. There has been talk of a contract extension or a transfer window departure. According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the player has entrusted his future to agent Jorge Mendes in order to find a way out.
This journalist is generally considered reliable, and the information may well be accurate despite some “surprising” details. Romano wrote “Ibrahima” and it is odd to see Mbaye described as a “midfielder.” However, these are likely just minor details in the broader story, as the PSG academy graduate appears to be on his way out.
At the very least, numerous media outlets and journalists agree on this point, and it is certainly plausible. Mbaye has seen limited action in 2026 and might be looking for more consistent playing time at a top club. The forward appears to be in high demand, particularly in the Premier League and Bundesliga. As for PSG, the door might well be open, given that their attacking ranks are expected to remain well-stocked.
It is worth remembering, however, that the Senegal international is only 18 years old. It was hardly unreasonable for him not to play every match in Paris. Furthermore, his playing time did allow him to break into the national team, leading to appearances at the AFCON and the World Cup. Not to mention that coach Luis Enrique emphasizes competition and the need to earn every minute on the pitch; perhaps Mbaye simply didn’t show the expected form in training. That does not alter his potential or the fact that PSG can believe in his future. A departure is not yet a done deal, and the price is uncertain. We are remaining cautious; the transfer market can move quickly when there are only rumors.
