Mika Godts—a 21-year-old forward (primarily a left winger) for Ajax Amsterdam (under contract until 2029) and Belgium, who enjoyed an excellent season—has recently been linked to Paris Saint-Germain. However, De Telegraaf reports that an agreement between the two clubs is far from certain following PSG’s initial offer.
“On Monday, Campos emailed a proposal consisting of a €40 million fixed fee plus a €5 million bonus that is easily attainable—virtually guaranteed. According to sources close to Ajax, the club is demanding a figure well above €60 million. While Cruijff justifies the exorbitant price tag with his own arguments, PSG counters with several points favoring a lower fee.”
After the initial feeling that the transfer might be wrapped up quickly, things have cooled off. Several media outlets had speculated on an offer and a price point around €50 million. However, the gap here is wider and could prove problematic—though not necessarily insurmountable. That is simply the nature of negotiations.
A bit of patience and caution regarding rumors is required; we are still waiting for concrete developments. Godts could arrive in Paris relatively soon, even if not in the immediate future. We have seen deals take a long time before—such as those for João Neves, Désiré Doué, or Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. Let’s wait and see how the negotiations unfold.
