Carlos Soler, the 28-year-old midfielder who arrived at Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2022 from Valencia with a contract running until 2027, failed to convince on the pitch and was loaned out to West Ham for the 2024-2025 season. He has now returned to Paris, with a solution to find for the future. Journalist Marc Mechenoua (Le Parisien) reports on Thursday that there are at least two interested clubs.
Brighton have made enquiries about Carlos Soler, but the hottest prospect is Villareal. The Spaniard is keen to return to his hometown of Valencia.
With Brighton (8th in the Premier League) and Villarreal (5th in La Liga), Soler has some rather tempting exits on the horizon. After a series of mixed seasons, it would seem difficult to do much better. His talent is not to be forgotten, the trick is to give him confidence and consistency.
Villarreal have the advantage of being in a league he knows and where he has already shone. As well as being close to his childhood home. That can count for something. Valencia (12th in La Liga) could also have something to say about this, even if a transfer is not on the cards at the moment.
We’ll have to wait and see what Soler’s future holds. For the moment, there’s nothing concrete. But PSG and the player can look forward to convincing offers. A sale in the region of 15-20 million euros has been mooted.
