Having arrived in the 2023 summer mercato from Inter Milan, 30-year-old defender Milan Skriniar has not made the move to Paris Saint-Germain. His contract expires in June 2028, and he has been loaned out to Fenerbahçe for the second half of the 2024-2025 season. He has bounced back well and there has been talk of a permanent move to the Turkish club this summer. This Thursday, Sports Digitale reports that Fenerbahçe’s sporting director has travelled to Italy to make progress on transfers, including that of the Slovak.
Nothing is impossible, and it’s only logical that clubs should want to get on with negotiations. There’s time in the mercato, but it’s never too early to conclude transfers. Particularly one as important as Skriniar, with a defender who is a permanent fixture in the team’s defense and has a substantial salary.
However, nothing is certain. There’s no question of an agreement yet. Even if that is the most likely outcome in this case. Let’s hope it doesn’t take too long. It would also be positive for PSG, with a completed dossier to free up payroll, among other things.
