Marco Asensio, Paris Saint-Germain’s 29-year-old midfielder/attacker under contract until 2026, failed to fully establish himself with coach Luis Enrique. So he was loaned out to Aston Villa for the second half of the 2024-2025 season, but was not retained by the English club. After his return, we’re waiting to find out what his future holds. Fanatik now claims that Fenerbahçe have made a significant breakthrough.
“Inter Milan’s rival, Fenerbahçe have made significant progress with Marco Asensio!
The midfielder was demanding an annual salary of 12 million euros to join the Turkish club, who accepted this amount after negotiations!

This morning, the Italian press mentioned Inter Milan’s interest. The response was not long in coming, with a Turkish media outlet now announcing the advance of Fenerbahçe. It’s hard to see clearly in the midst of the mercato “games”, with clubs and agents giving indications in an attempt to put pressure on negotiations.
But the Turkish club’s interest is credible, and it’s possible that they’ve finally accepted the Spanish international’s hefty salary. He could be a great addition to the squad. And the transfer could be relatively inexpensive, as the price is said to be around ten million euros.
However, we’ll have to wait and see. There have been numerous rumours surrounding Asensio in recent days, but nothing concrete.
