Ilya Zabarnyi, the 22-year-old central defender from Bournemouth (contract until 2028) and Ukraine, has been rumored to be on the verge of signing for Paris Saint-Germain in a €66 million deal including bonuses. Le Parisien today confirmed this morning’s report from RMC Sport: everything has been settled between the clubs, and the player will travel to Paris this Sunday.
« Green light for Illya Zabarnyi! After Bournemouth and PSG reached an agreement for his transfer worth around €66 million, including bonuses, the Ukrainian international defender (47 caps) will be able to travel to France this Sunday to finalize his arrival at the European champions.
As announced a little earlier by RMC Sport, the player, who will be 23 years old on September 1st, is preparing to head to Paris. He is expected this Sunday at the end of the day in the capital before undergoing the usual tests for his signature until 2030.
We can only hope that today is the right day, at least for Zabarnyi to arrive in Paris. It would be more surprising if the Ukrainian were already officially a PSG player tonight, while the medical has clearly not yet started. At least, the essentials are there with this transfer completed. Paris will spend a total of 66 million euros to strengthen its defense, and we hope that the player will live up to the expectations placed in him. Of course, this won’t be judged on a few matches. And we will always be there to cheer him on.
