Emmanuel Mbemba, the 17-year-old left-back who came through the Paris Saint-Germain academy and is under contract until 2026, is expected to leave this summer, particularly to the Bundesliga. Sport now reports that the young player’s agent is exploring options, including Barcelona, while PSG hasn’t given up hope of extending his contract.
A departure is possible, but not a done deal.
“Currently, a promising young player from the Parisian club’s youth system is traveling across Europe seeking offers from the continent’s biggest clubs.
Of course, Barcelona is among the teams that have made an offer for Emmanuel Mbemba.
This 17-year-old defender, whose contract with PSG expires at the end of the season, has been dragging his feet for weeks regarding an extension.
The Congolese defender’s contract expires at the end of this season, and this situation has prompted his agent to delay the extension offer he had prepared, waiting to see how the market reacts and whether any attractive offers will materialize outside of PSG.”
Nothing is impossible; Mbemba is nearing the end of his contract, and an extension doesn’t seem particularly likely. It’s difficult, therefore, to be optimistic on the Parisian side. He is a very promising young player, and big clubs could be on the lookout for a bargain. That’s part of football, like the recent arrival of Dro Fernandez (an 18-year-old midfielder trained at Barça) at PSG. Except that it’s less pleasant in this respect.
However, nothing is certain yet. There’s no talk of an agreement or a signing imminent. Everything remains open; the transfer window can move very quickly, especially for young players whose contracts are expiring. Let’s wait for certainties, as there are only rumors at the moment.
